Hi!!
If you read my last post I talked about my new resolutions, and one of them was making Tuesdays "Blog Day". So I thought it was pretty fair and somehow expected that I should report how this past week went by on this matter! And, it went good! =) It was awesome to see how God and I managed to change a lot, so suddenly! Actually, it was the first time in my life I have been so constant and in so many ways! Of course, I know me, and I know life, so I would never take it for granted and I plan to continue to work hard on this ideal in the future!
But being more specific here! This is what I got:
- Prayed more!! Yes, we (gotcha?!) did it!! Really!!!
- woke up, did the bed and got dressed every single day!
- Took care more efficiently of Rebecca's meal and schedules (D had a big role in here too, so I don't claim this achievement solely).
- washed the dishes! Although I did not washed them right away on every single time, I did manage to get a little better on it!
- Flossed every day!!! Really, this is such a achievement for me!! I thought I wouldn't make it everyday, but I put an extra extra effort on it, and I did it!
- Our home has been more pretty and tied up! More organized! Really!!! I even organized my old papers box!!
- Planned the meals and the groceries!
- Ironed all the clothes yesterday as I had scheduled it for every Monday!!!
Aaaand, I did started something that I didn't mention on the last post, because I had forgotten, although someone reminded me of: exercises!! Yes!!!! I cannot believe myself nor does D!!! hahaha I went to the gym on 5 days out of 6!!! It was the perfect time to start going to the gym again!! It was Thanksgiving, and D could stay at home watching Rebecca while I went to the gym! So my problem was to think how I could keep going there during the normal weekdays? And we figured it out! I would take a light breakfast around 7am and then go to the gym! Around 8:15am I would come back and then it's D's turn to go there! (Just reminding everyone that we have a nice gym in our building complex! So it is awesome!! And while I'm there working out, I pray! I take an insightful book and pray! Being efficient!! ;)
The only problem now it's that I want to sleep all day long after my workout! I'm soooo out of shape! Out of breath, if you prefer! And for those who think that I'm so tiny that I shouldn't do any exercise, I want to be more specific and tell you that I'm ONLY working on my legs! (Have you heard about that bad guy called cellulite? So...) Yeah! So nothing to worry about! And some exercise it's good for everyone! Besides, I don't have much time left to work on my leg's musculature like this before I get pregnant again!
And when will that be? Many ask me! So let's open a parenthesis here! Well, I really want another baby since I had Rebecca! I told everyone else that I was ready for a thousand more babies. Joking of course, but indeed, the delivery was very easy for me and the joy of a new baby it's truly something!! You can really feel your heart getting larger!! But back to business! It all depends when D is going to get another job and where we'll gonna be! Because I'm mostly sure that I can't be pregnant in order to be included on his health plan when he'll be a full time employee. (Since right now he's a part time employee and it's not worth to be included on his current health plan). And due to the many changes on health care in these last 2 years it turned impossible for us to have another baby on my current (or any, actually!) individual health plan. Say it would cost us something like $8,000-$10,000. So yeah! That's the whole story! But, hopefully, by June next year everything will be more clear!
And back to my new resolutions, I still have to work some more on deciding about Rebecca's schedules and activities and organize a few more things!! So let me get back to business and see you all next week, hopefully!
God bless you all and take care!!

"New Year's Resolutions"
Hi guys,
I know it's been a good while since I last posted in this blog! I've been busy and in need of some changes too, so all of this contributed to the long absence. Also, just a little note about the language I'm first writing this post specifically: english! Yes, I've been having troubles translating my posts from portuguese! So I decided I would try something different and instead of writing first in portuguese, then translating to english, I would invert the order. So let's wait and see how it goes!
Now I'd like to explain the part of the title that says "New Year". Well, in the catholic calender, on this Sunday we'll start the Advent season and, actually, it really represents the beginning of a new year in this calender! So, I'm catholic, I love advent season, I really need to do some (a lot of) changes in my life!!! And I want to talk a little bit more about these changes I quickly mentioned. And I think it's time for my public confession. For those of you who may think I'm a terrific good girl, it turns out that this is pretty exaggerated! I know I'm a good girl because I have a good heart deep inside that my parents helped me shape. But in matters of order, consistency and temper, I fail immensely. Being more specific with examples:
- my house was constantly a mess;
- I didn't do the bed on many days;
- the meals weren't ready when they should be;
- there weren't enough supplies in the fridge because of my lack of planning;
- I just didn't know what to cook for a meal or what to feed my baby;
- I missed Rebecca's bed time way too many times, or Rebecca's bath time;
- I stayed too much time in the computer, often doing nothing!
- I didn't do all my usual prayers;
- I wasn't caring enough for my appearance at home;
- I kept accumulating clothes to iron until D had to pick a wrinkled clothe from the huge pile to go to work or until I had to hurry to find a clean clothe for Rebecca after we showered her;
And the list could go on but I feel like crap too much to continue to think about it, right now!
SO, I HAD TO CHANGE!! God is been so patient with me and treating me so kindly. He still believes in me, so it's time for me to take the front in this inner battle!
Well, if you noticed (above) I used the verbs in the past, because in some of these things I had improved quite a lot! And in the others I truly hope to improve a lot and that's why the public confession! I need you guys to be my witnesses of my promise to be a better woman, wife and mother! Otherwise my husband and my children will pay for it! And that's insane!
So, my huge, innovative, creative, BIG idea is: planning! (duh!)
Yes, planning and I it's a "love and hate" thing! I love it in theory and then I hate it in action! It has been like this since forever (in my case, I mean) but now it's time to love it for real! Btw, to love, it's to put a lot of effort in what you do, and not a sentiment, a feeling! So it's time for me to truly love planning! To be constant on it!
So my plannings are: select a day of the week to organize all the things I want/need to do!! I'm still working on it but what I have right now is the following:
Saturday: planning meals day, groceries day, vacuum cleaner day and bathroom cleaning day!
Sunday: laundry, pray and rest day!
Monday: iron the clothes, fold the clothes and everything regarding clothes like fixing them, for example!
Tuesday: blog day! (So why the heck I'm typing this post on a Wednesday, huh?)
Wednesday: my mom's project day! (long story!) And improving my english day!
Thursday: reading day (leisure and learning books)!
Friday: drawing day and keyboard day!
I also need to think about a schedule like this for Rebecca, but I haven't done it yet! And also, I thought about some guidelines to help me order my daily activities! Like:
- get out of bed and do the bed, the sooner the better!
- Change the PJ's for a nice outfit for the day and do personal hygiene!
- Kiss my boy "Good Morning" after personal hygiene!
- breakfast AND breakfast for Rebecca!
- wash the dishes right after each meal and not after hours we've eaten!
- don't turn the laptop on before breakfast! (you did what???)
- Pray before checking FB, mail, news, or whatever!
- Stop everything at 11:30am and start cooking lunch!
- Stop everything at 6pm and start cooking dinner!
- Stop everything at noon and pray the Angelus!
- Floss DAILY!
- Shower after dinner and after the dishes and not at 10:45pm!
- read 5 min of the Bible before sleep!
- Kiss my boy every time he leaves and arrives, like we used to do before!
- Smile more at him, like when we're dating!
- Hug him three times a day! (Since he's home for lunch everyday!)
And the list goes on but now it's 11:30am so let me go fix lunch!!!
xoxo
