Blog day

Hello everyone,

I know it's been a while since my last post and I also know that I have kinda promised a post every tuesday. Well, actually it wasn't only about the blog that I failed to keep my previous resolutions. To make it short I won't explain everything that happened and all the reasons that messed up my schedule, because I realized that there will always be excuses, they just vary, so there's no point explaining why I failed in some points, because these excuses are meant to recur although, probably, with a different look. The point in here is, in my opinion, to admit to myself that I gave in to some temptations, and to restart again! And that's how it will be for all my years to come! I just hope that they will get less frequent. I know this is possible but requires effort, so back to the good fight!

Anyway, changing subjects! There were a few things I wanted to write about but they seem gone today, don't know exactly why. Well, Christmas is coming up and I just realized how little effort I've put into becoming a more "Christ aware" person in my daily life! D. and I are praying the rosary everyday together for a week already but we could do better! And Rebecca loves to kiss child Jesus, Mary and Joseph every time she'll be put to sleep and when she get's up, but that's little! By the way, she started saying one more word: "bebe" (which means "baby" in portuguese), and she constantly refers to baby Jesus as "bebe" although it seems that many more different things are "bebe" to her nowadays! =) But there is the rest of the week left to concentrate and put an extra effort!

About our Christmas celebrations, we'll be celebrating on the 24th night just our little family. We'll be going to Mass, probably at 5pm and then will be having some good food (we all hope!) - huge steaks probably - and a dessert that just came up to me today while I visited youtube this morning! I'll be making a Japanese Christmas Cake. I have often seen people eating this cake on japanese movies or cartoons and It seems really yummy! Pray for me so I'll be able to make it right, haha, just kidding! Want to see the video with the recipe? Visit:

And then we'll open our presents at night after supper. On the 25th, will be having a brunch, then we'll go to Mass at 10am and then we'll be going to a friend's house. They are very sweet and they have babies!! Hooray! I'm sure we'll have a good time and some good food since this friend is a terrific cook (specially her desserts!) Yummy! And they are good catholics which I think it's specially nice since you'll be celebrating such a christian feast with people who share the same beliefs as you!

And, we'll obviously be turning the skype on so we can feel a little bit closer to our families during such amazing time of the year!! Oh, I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!

And to finalize this choppy post, I will tell you something funny that happened on Christmas day four years ago when D. and I were dating at distance. So D. was in New Orleans by that time and I was still living in parent's house in Brazil. And because of some things I was really sad that we were apart and suddenly I felt like it wasn't worth all our efforts, that maybe we were not suppose to be together, and for the first and only time during our distance relationship, I decided I wanted to break up with him. So I called him (it was around 1am (or later) in Brazil when I had that "insight", so it was like 10pm in New Orleans. So I was kinda crying and saying to him that I wanted to put an end to our relationship! The funny thing is that he was laughing at me the whole time of our conversation! haha Well, he knew I didn't really wanted for us to be over, so he didn't take me seriously, kindly laughed at me and reassured me, and suddenly when we hang up I was all happy again, everything was fine and we were back again! haha Silly!

And that's it!

I truly hope you all will have a very blessed and merry Christmas!!
