Weekend - first times!

I think I'll start a section in this blog about our weekends! Not that they are full of activities, because usually they're not! But I will blog about the simple things! The ones that make life special in an unique way! The title will feature the word Weekend and a few words that specifically describe it better! It's supposed to be a short post with pictures!

So this one was a weekend of first times! First October with a little child living in a house in the US mean just one thing: Pumpkin Patch! or "Halloween" but we didn't get there yet! So Pumpkin Patch it is:

mommy is the happiest to be there!

it was a small pumpkin patch but very sweet!

feeding the fishes! Rebecca proved it too ew...

watching the colourful fishes!

But instead of picking a pumpkin like we thought we would, we bought baby carrots and radishes seeds which we already planted and arugula that was already growing in a pot so we just transfered it to our garden! The sensation of having our own garden is so sweet! So this is also a first time for us!

Some pictures of food as I love food!!

Natural strawberry juice! I freeze strawberries that we won't eat before they get rotten and then put them in the blender with cold water and some sugar! Amazing! Rebecca loved it too and asked for seconds!

radishes!!
It also was a first time that Dan and I competed in the kitchen to see who has the better oven potatoes recipe! It was a tie! His potatoes had better taste since they were cooked in the same pan as the chicken but mine had better tenderness and texture! The chicken was goooood, btw!

Dan's potatoes were the round ones and mine were the finger ones!

And for the rest of the weekend we went to Sunday Mass at 9am. On Sunday afternoon we took Rebecca to the playground in our neighborhood!

We watched "There will be Dragons" (very good movie!) on Saturday and "The Avengers" for the first time on Sunday. Also a good movie! We had brazilian style hot dogs on Friday night, brazilian cheese bread for breakfast on Saturday and homemade pizza on sat night!

One flower from our garden to Our Lady!

A good weekend with Dan and Rebecca!! As usual!!
